A recent podcast on “Soul Lounge Primetime” was devoted to discussing this forgotten basketball history and the Renaissance Ballroom, the SHRINE where it all happened.
The guests on the podcast, “The Harlem Rens: Keeping The Legacy Alive,” were authors, experts, and activists Keisha Sutton-James, Manhattan Deputy Borough President; Kevin McGruder, author of “Race and Real Estate: Conflict and Cooperation in Harlem, 1890-1920”; Glenn Hunter, Co-Founder, Co-Executive Director of the Harlem Cultural Archives historical society; and Claude Johnson, Founder and Executive Director of the Black Fives Foundation.
