Demolition Depot has been commissioned to sell the architectural and garden ornaments from a distinguished couple’s summer home.
Situated in the South Fork of Long Island (an hour and a half from Harlem, NY) the home was constructed by its previous owners, the celebrated Paris designers Robert Denning and Vincent Fourcade.
The home was sold recently and is scheduled to be demolished shortly.
It’s difficult to pick one item over the other as all are special in this house.
There is a spectacular Art Nouveau doorway in the manner of Hector Guimard, and two very large corresponding Pier mirrors with planters.
The kitchen door is clad with tufted leather padding.
One of the more remarkable pieces being offered is a pair of uniquely sculpted fireplaces that were installed on the cylindrical central free-standing chimney.
These imposing fellows can be reinstalled with a little bit of retrofitting. Wherever these one-of-a-kind fireplaces are reinstalled, they will undoubtedly leave a lasting impression.
The Terrace doors with triangular transom feature a relief of Mercury overhead.
There are also very nice Art Nouveau doors, a marble-topped Art Nouveau bathroom vanity, and incredible painted artwork murals.
The garden items include a rare set of eight 19th-century cast-iron planters, a Bronze fountain, planters, and benches.
A fabulous winding wooden staircase with a corresponding balcony and railing leads to the second floor.
It’s a handcrafted, unique, and winding spiral art nouveau staircase, that comes with a corresponding balcony and railing.
They are showing the items by appointment.
